On The Apex is a new motorsport insights and analysis newsletter and website, built on the old Only Endurance backend, by the same writer.
I am an accredited motorsport journalist for the IMSA Sportscar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship, covering races in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
I want to take you deeper into sportscar and endurance racing, offering insights, analysis and opinion, direct to your inbox.
Great. But what is On The Apex?
I'm planning to send a weekly newsletter out, on Wednesdays, with an insight or long form article about a relevant topic in sportscar or endurance racing. This may cover the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA Sportscar Championship, GT World Challenge (Europe), or Intercontinental GT Challenge. Possibly also the European or Asian Le Mans Series as well, we'll see.
That's just the start: I have big ideas and plans for where I want to take this in the future, using increasing amounts of data to tell race stories, plus in-depth interviews with major figures in the sport. But I'm starting small first and we'll see how things go.
What's coming up
The first article, coming this Wednesday, will be focused on the 2030 Hypercar/GTP regulations and what we may be able to expect from them. We're hoping to hear the first initial, concrete details of these at Le Mans in a couple of weeks time. The article features input from Porsche, BMW, Toyota and McLaren. There's a lot happening in this area – it's an exciting time to be a sportscar fan.
There'll be a Le Mans preview the week after, just hours before opening practice gets underway at La Sarthe, which I will be at in person to cover for this newsletter/website and for Motorsport Week. I may also send a special Friday newsletter 24 hours or so before the start of the 24 hour race, looking at practice long runs and lap times, plus qualifying, with some insight from drivers and teams, depending who I get hold of.
The Wednesday after Le Mans, I'll have some in-depth analysis and insight of the race and how it went down.
After that, we'll see: I have some ideas but nothing 100% solid yet. If there's anything you'd like to read, questions you want answered, etc, let me know by replying to this email or sending a message to phil@ontheapex.com.
Supporting On The Apex
At some point, the insight/feature/in-depth articles will become paid-for content. I'm not sure when yet; the timing depends on a few different factors. I hope the quality will be good enough to convince you to upgrade to a paying membership, helping me get to races and cover this wonderful sport we all love.
Equally, if you want to upgrade to paid now, you can do that! It's currently £10 a year or £1 a month, which will likely go up when the content becomes paid-for. There will be free content alongside that, and the paid-for content will be released to free members after a set period of time. So you'll be able to read it... eventually.
But, there's absolutely no pressure. I'm just genuinely grateful you're here as my founding members.

A word on Only Endurance
Most here are old members who subscribed when this was still Only Endurance. Thank you for subscribing then, and if you became a paid member, double thank you. Both are genuinely appreciated.
If you're a new subscriber in the past 24 hours or so from when I soft launched On The Apex - also thank you! Great to have you here.
Tim, the creator and founder of Only Endurance, and I decided to go our separate ways for this year. We both wanted to do different things with this website and it was best to do our own thing, separately.
If you have any suggestions or ideas for articles or features I could write about, great! Feel free to send me a message by replying to this email. Or if you just want to say hi. It's always good to hear from readers.
Thanks all. I can't wait to get started with this new project.
See you at a race track!
Phil
